Hydrogen vs EV trucks for long haul and regional as of June 2020. 15 yr life service cost comparison study. Assumption is that hydrogen can be obtained from Sahara solar PV array (with electrolysis somewhere near the coast) and transported to EU. EV truck electricity assume to come from offshore wind and charged at current cost. Battery cost projection comes from BNEF (already outdated). Even with all those favorable costing (in favor of hydrogen) assumptions, EV comes out quite a bit cheaper.
