Nader chooses to play nice with the FDA because they hold all the cards. Which is usually the best approach with any bureaucracy. However when that bureaucracy becomes a Kafkaesque nightmare that is intent on screwing you over at the cost of peoples lives the time to play nice is over.

690,000 people worldwide died from AIDS in 2019. Many because they developed multiple resistance to current HIV drugs. The FDA and the CDC being the supposed world leaders should be held accountable for slowing down the approval of a drug that can fix that.
