Dr. BP did a Ted talk on the topic and discussed preliminary findings. Ted talks are much more widely viewed and respected then Dr. Been’s show, so your argument that he wouldn’t go on the show without data being released doesn’t make sense to me. He has plenty to talk about without the data. And NP has said multiple times that mainstream media is interested in the data and interviews once its released, so I imagine Dr. BP will be doing much bigger interviews than a Dr. on YouTube.
