Why would a journal publish Patterson without trial results?
To be first.
To establish scientific importance, it is not necessary that Patterson is correct as to the entirety of causality of covid19 cytokine storm.
His theory need not be proven correct as the theory-of-everything.
All that is necessary to establish scientific importance is that Patterson's theory is likely at least a part of the story for covid19.
If Patterson has discovered a piece of the puzzle, even though he has not completed the entire puzzle, the journal wants to be the first to publish the RANTES piece of the puzzle.
