Excellent point that communications of that type would be a bad idea. As a number of noted, Cytodyn has done an excellent job of being aboveboard at every step.
Even the anecdotal evidence of the improvement of Dr . Pourhassan’s mother, for which he was lambasted by the shorts, was transparent and consistent with the message of the clinical efficacy and progression from anecdotal/discovery level research to rigorous double blind trials.
I am glad that complete analysis of markers is being conducted by Patterson et al in CD10 and CD12, not as a shortcut, but as an opportunity to learn about immune disregulation in response to Covid and more generally.
We are watching in real time the discovery of the immunological basis to pathology in what previously were considered just virologic instances.
I read pretty widely and not ever heard discussion of immunologic disfunction in influenza. As evidenced by continued stream of medrxiv preprint, much of the medical community still has not fully grasped the immunologic nature of Covid illness.
The development of leronlimab for Covid, cancer, HIV, etc has an opportunity to change the entire pharmacologic approach to these diseases. The knowledge that is emerging from Patterson in conjunction with Cytodyn illuminates the path for the future of medicine.
