I think you are right. Dr.BP knows who is in each treatment arm and knows who has died (no blood samples), and Dr.NP also knows which patients have died (SAE).
It occurs to me that the phrase "quite a few deaths" could also be taken as "we wish (for statistical reasons only) there were more deaths".
So, CytoDyn might not be in a rush to present these interim results and they'd maybe like to continue the trial so they can capture the more distressed patients from the relaxed exclusion change in June.
