What is the number? The following was taken off IV from a very bright poster...he said this about another stock;
a friend of mine who recently passed away worked for Goldman S and actually formulated a mathematical equation for evaluating a VALUE number for a pharma buyout.
That number changes based upon a bunch of things like what phase in testing the drug candidates are in...the remaining life of the patents and more..bunch more and taking it down to a PRESENT VALUE. There is no standard but I assume each Investment Banker has their own.
I doubt poster XXX or YYY are sophisticated enough to derive THAT NUMBER, or they wouldn't be questioning each other for the information
I ran my own numbers and extrapolated a number...I haven't computed one lately. It's weighted number that can change even monthly!!!
just remember something interesting
I asked him what would other Investment Bankers come up with after their compilation of a Value Amount. How close to a number will all of you be?
His reply, " Surprisingly close"
