I view the Mexico trials as an extension to the US trials as the protocol is supposedly identical to the US. So if we have results for 50 interim patients for cs patients in the US trial, that increases by 50% by end of July using the Mexican trial at the latest. It is helpful to Mexico to rapidly move ahead as the US may still drag their feet due to pharma pressures.
Secondly, it is now 2 countries with potentially positive data. Helps other countries take us seriously. Mexico can adopt the medicine with much more political clout internal to Mexico. It would not surprise me if Mexico has received some assurances for priority access to Leronlimab for doing these tests as a quid pro quo.
I like it for many reasons. Hope they accelerate it to a full agreement soon.
