At the risk of being redundant, I believe the timing of this announcement is directly related to the (theoretical) conclusion of the S/C trial yesterday.

There is no other plausible explanation for why this has been delayed for an entire month -- and why it got announced one day later.

Someone (FDA) forced this to sit on ice until the S/C trial was over.
