I agree. Antivirals are still on the table and since BARDA has been working on Influenza, SARS, MERS and others, Briliacidin will be advanced and will be stockpiled. Funding assigned for influenza and the others will be shifted to be used alongside money set aside for the current pandemic.

Second, Brilacidin’s performance in the human kidney cell lines is also excellent and since those results cane out earlier I actually anticipate a study using Brilacidin as a stand-alone intervention to prevent acute kidney injury.

Lastly, controlling inflammation is also still in play. Studies can easily be designed to use Brilacidin as a stand-alone or combo therapy.

This article does not stop B in it’s tracks. BARDA was designed to advance drugs like B and they finally have one that the scientists and taxpayers can be happy with. Knowing the sense of urgency and the Nature of BARDA and it’s importance for the DOD, I believe that there are many studies already underway testing B as a medical counter measure that are secret but will eventually be revealed.
