The issue with HCQ is CHEAP and WIDELY AVAILABLE. It will kill the goose that lays the golden egg if HCQ is approved for COVID. So HCQ has to be removed. Now with this negative image on HCQ, a potential lawsuit could be filed if a patient dies after HCQ treatment. So many Dr will hesitate to prescribe. IMHO, HCQ value is for Doctor, Nurse and the front line worker where they are mostly healthy but have a greater chance of having contact with the virus than us. We, the non-medical field population, on the other hand, wont go to a Dr until we have symptoms or our spouse/family/close friends have Covid. But by that time, it may be too late for HCQ. BP can play a nicer game to limit HCQ usage but the risk is too high.
