Given all of the conspiracy talk this morning Is like to offer a contrarian viewpoint.
While I have no doubt that there is lobbying, politics and jockeying happening in big pharma, I think it can be quite easy to let our fears get out of control.
You see our brains are designed to fill in the missing parts of any scenario so as to make sense of it. Quite often this results in obsurd beliefs (Greek Gods, flat earth, 911 conspiracies, etc). We should recognize that that is a possibility for some of us here.
It's also worth acknowledging the fact that we have yet to give the FDA, NIH or anyone else any actual clinical data on Leronlimab for COVID. In fact, none of us have seen it either. So to make assumptions that the FDA is going to block us is premature at best.
Could politics and lobbying slow us down? It's possible. But it's also possible that we are launched onto the scene very soon.
The one thing that I do know is that in a world that is this connected they will not be able to keep us a secret. And inaction will result in massive public pressure.
IMO the very best that BP could achieve is to slow us down long enough to have a competitive drug. But if what BP, JL and NP tell us is true, there won't be anything as good as Leronlimab. Just a few more weeks and we will know.
