I’m reposting this for reference. Pages 54-56 list the BARDA grant figures for antimicrobials, influenza, and one antiviral. Combined it adds up to over $150 million. Just remember that this was for 2016 and we weren’t dealing with a global pandemic. Today we can expect the Feds to easily write a check to study Brilacidin for $100 million under current circumstances. I expect that once all the boxes have been checked, we will get a nice chunk get into human trials.
Posted a few months back:
Pg. 54 of this report shows what BARDA invested in antimicrobials back in 2016. This money does NOT have to be paid back. These examples do not have the sense of urgency that this global pandemic has and these examples are actually kinda week when compared to Brilacidin helping with Coronavirus.
Based on these figures I would expect Brilacidin to bring in a few hundred million to pull us out of this crisis and a few more for future stockpiles. Add in sales to other countries in a jam and their strategic stockpiles and the numbers get astronomical.
