Yes and I got caught in the thick of it; Typically the inventor who created the concept, in our case Bret, controls the patent and assigns the patent to the company he directs; the other inventors will get rewards as the royalties roll in. I was not very civil to one of the posters whose history I know. However, I did have fun defending our company.
