So the lab is anxious to get government money to continue with testing, but we are supposed to think that "oh horrors lab testing STILL isn't done after almost, gee, a couple of weeks" and draw negative conclusions?
Why would the lab want to do this if they were not getting great positive data?
That's really funny.
It takes time to wrap up a study and do data analysis that is suitable for publication. Labs and companies that have rushed to put out the results without adequate data analysis have always paid a price for it -- people don't understand the results unless they are spelled out clearly.
