While an engineer, i have never calculated a p-value before. But it seems pretty simple for a binary endpoint such as mortality.
Maybe someone who knows for sure will chime in.
I agree it certainly makes leronlimab success in severe/critical seem almost certain if severe/critical mortality is really 80% as many sources have published.
What I find disturbing is that the placebo patients need to die to execute this trial. Are those placebo patients forbidden from potential helpful treatments for the 28 day duration of this trial? That hardly seems like something compatible with the Hippocratic oath. I think the placebo arm mortality will be much, much lower than 80%.
