The labs don't show the clinical status of the patient. An individual patient could die and still have good lab results. Unusual improvements in overall group could indicate which patients are likely have received the treatment and its overall effectiveness. the number of patients treated is known, so a corresponding value in lab results would be a very strong clue. The overall clinical results coud be correlated to overall lab results.
