It sounds like you’re saying Dr. Patterson is ignorant of statistics. It’s his quote after all. But I think it’s more likely that math guy has failed to grasp the nuance of language. I doubt very much that shareholders, many of whom do have at least a rudimentary understanding of irony, would be offended.
