CEPI was founded in Davos by the governments of Norway and India, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the Wellcome Trust, and the World Economic Forum.
CEPI has secured financial investment from the Governments of Australia, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Ethiopia, Finland, Germany, Japan, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Netherlands, Norway, the UK and Switzerland, as well as the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and Wellcome. The European Commission provides substantial financial contributions to support relevant projects through its mechanisms. CEPI has also received donations from the private sector and individuals through the UN Foundation’s COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund to support our COVID-19 vaccine development efforts.
