My original shares go back to at least 2008. Can't trace it any farther back as we have transferred brokerages 3 times and I think that the first time they didn't actually use the original purchase date in the transfer.

The blessing for me is that a few years ago, when it was a penny, I moved it into a ROTH. If you have one, transfer what you have and pay the tax now. If you don't have one, do it before it goes much higher.
