I am a big fan of finishing thing as well... been my biggest gripe all along. With that said, I dont think this was just some random idea. I believe Gilead approached us and asked us to do a trial with them. When we balked, they came back with this format because it provides us the ability to prove that Leronlimab works, regardless of whether or not Rem works.

And they can't piggyback on our success.
