More info on this potential story. This may end up working out great for us. I know the reporter has talked to one of the key docs. Her main question is "Why is the government pushing Rem when the data is so shoddy?" She did not, but now she understands the pathogenesis of the disease. Once she digested that, she came to the conclusion (duh) that something fishy is going on. The discussion then went to Leronmilab, and she now has Dr. Patterson's paper and she now understands that the issue is Rantes and that anti virals are not the answer.
Can't wait for Patterson to reinforce this. Tonight she's going to talk to a pulmonologist friend of mine who's treating these patients in smaller community hospital setting. This guy will be great contrast. He used to be on the faculty of our state's premier teaching hospital. Then he spent 3 years with BP. He now is right on the front lines of a smaller hospital that can't get the resources it needs. This could all come together beautifully. I told her this has the makings of a major scandal.
