I think they used to. I remember watching a video where they were walking around the Utah office and into the other section where they stored and packed stuff.
It's the lumpy part of the business pre sampling that they wanted to get out of, but some high touch, big clients may have asked them to keep doing it, but if they do, I don't think it would be many. Some are located right in the area and I think one, in the same building or next to them. At least that's what I remember on Google maps street view.
What I also remember was, this work was going to be outsourced and VERB would get the .60 fee, plus a little market up on the other parts. They wouldn't make money if they had to do all the work for that although there was a handling fees in there but that was only .65
As you said, it wouldn't name sense for VERB to do this on any scale. They would need Amazon type warehouses.
