I got in late 2018 for like, $500 as one of my first forays into investing. I’d hired a guy who had been investing for decades. He kept telling me he wanted to do something nice for me for hiring him, so after months of saying “it’s all good, you don’t have to do a thing, I’m happy you’re here” I finally said “ok, here’s what you can do for me...teach me how to invest.” I didn’t have much in the way of free cash but I wanted to start. Ended up refinancing my house for other reasons and had some money sitting in my account afterward. Figured investing it “for now” made sense.
I bought and sold a bunch of things, winning on some and losing on others. (Can you tell I’m a gambler at heart yet) I started small and slowly built it up. Thankfully I won a good bit more than I lost and the bulk of my winnings kept getting funneled to CYDY. (Yep, a gambler. #winnings)
I’ve built up just shy of 40,000 shares in my first 16 months of investing. It’s the only thing I’ve never sold a share of and it’s my only investment at the moment. I also got a bunch of others into it. My average is $1.09. Not bad for a guy who wanted to throw only a couple thousand dollars at it.
As a side note, I really appreciate this forum. It isn’t always perfect and I wish I had more than 5 posts. But it is what it is. Overall though, I refresh this page like a maniac throughout the day and the vast majority of posters here have been extremely helpful for a relative newbie like me.
