If you're thinking about reserving a spot on the next Space X flight, do you tell people you're going to or you're thinking about it?
Regardless, a CEO has an accountability to investors that is not similar to everyday personal opinions, spoken aloud. Maybe, he should realize by now, as you should, too, that if things might not work out on a certain deal, that should be expressed publicly as part of the statement.
Credible people stating things as facts are often taken as facts, I can't see how anyone navigates their lives otherwise. Unless you're pretty sure that the speaker of those facts has a credibility problem.
