Multiple sclerosis is caused by the immune system seeing the myelin sheath and myelin sheath producing cells that protects the nerves as foreign and attacks it. Without that myelin sheath the nerves become damaged. Through RANTES (CCL5) blocking there would not be recruitment of macrophages to the nerve endings, lowered IL-6 and as you noted the lowering of pro-inflammatory M1 and an increase of M2 anti-inflammatory macrophages.

A very similar disease state and treatment as Alzheimer's, Parkinson's and several other diseases.
