I am not sure we should be worried about being behind anyone. If you want to say J&J is ahead because of their resources, government ties and being first in line for massive funding I can appreciate taking such a position.
OTOH, Generex is a mature company, with many of the same scientists involved for forever. Decades of data, extreme safety profile and now 10 years of efficacy data for cancer(I know it's not Covid-19). The CEO is as familiar with the companies science as any non medical scientist CEO could be. Previous data was looking promising(from what we hear) for the past virus work. Newer directors with extensive backgrounds in biotech. Relationships with the best cancer research sites in the US. EVH's extensive research acquaintances. FDA knows peptides are safe.
Funding boils down to the formalities of completing the application process, then science, comprehensive plan to vaccinate the USA's population by October, then the final part being who you know.
Don't forget, Joe has said the US isn't the only country we are in talks with.
