Its obvious why the publication of Dr. P's paper was delayed. Someone in charge at the publication received a call from a buddy of his who works at GILD. It was a casual conversation laced with gentle nuanced prodding, but the message was clear:
GILD is going to get news of FDA approval this afternoon. It wouldn't look good if after all the resources (money) spent, a paper came out that instantly makes remdesivir irrelevant. It would embarrass many people, possibly all the way to DT. Delay as long as possible using every trick in the book and then dkme.
Minor grammatical errors? Great! Irrelevant punctuation errors? Now you're getting it! Bury it and there'll be a special reward.
Personally, i think the science is too great and too many lives are at stake. The information will eventually find its way to the top. If the people in charge of the COVID-19 team aren't complete idiots, they'll realize sooner than later that there's no hiding this.
