I think he meant they could take a "peek" into the data.
Some trials allow to do this, apparently this is one of them according to Nader, however this dos not mean that there are enough people to STOP it (and demonstrate efficacy).
Normally this is done for safety reasons. If it is noticed that patients are affected negatively the trial is stopped.
