Southwest announced their first loss in years - with bookings at around 10% of what they were last year. I suspect AA will announce a similar result tomorrow.
On the positive side, with oil being so cheap, the airlines should be able to hedge fuel at some of the lowest costs ever for when travel eventually picks up. So maybe the airlines are trading on the prospective return of travel, rather than the current result (which everyone expects).
Quite the crap shoot. With the market the way it currently is, seems like sometimes up is down and black is white.
