We know that Dr. P submitted his paper to NEJM yesterday morning. Peer review should happen quickly given how important it is.
Validation will come by peers reviewing the science, protocols, data, and interpretation of the data. If the report is solid (as I expect it to be given Dr. P's background), I would expect this to happen quickly. The NEJM is published weekly. I hope the report is impressive enough to get 'leaked' prior to the next publication if it doesn't make it to this week's; I think someone here said the next publication is out tomorrow.
If not, at least we can look forward to having some 'meat' fed to us this Friday.
