I completely disagree. Remdesivir is successful according to this preliminary data. People are being discharged 4 days earlier, in statistically significant numbers. Anyone who doesn't think that getting out of the hospital 4 days earlier matters -- well, that boggles the mind.
People are also surviving who otherwise would not have done so. This matters to them and their families.
You don't have to support IPIX's efforts with Brilacidin by dismissing good clinical trial results for a drug that has SOME efficacy against a disease that thus far has had NO proven drugs to treat it.
I hope that Remdesivir saves lives and shortens the length of suffering for patients, while we wait for drugs that can knock the disease out more quickly. If we are lucky, there will be several drugs that work well, which can potentially be used in combination, if there is not one drug that can do the job by itself.
I hope that Brilacidin works against this disease, but as we wait for more test results, I am glad that there is something that will help some people in the meantime.
