I think the point is, to put less value on stuff and more value on self.
Now you'll have animosity every time you think about basketball cards or Michael Jordan. Why? Over a pile of cards? Not worth it.
When I was in grade school I collected baseball cards. I had about 8 shoeboxes full with Topps cards, years '76 to '80. I lugged those cards around for 20+ years, always thinking I would sell them someday and make a lot of money. Then about 17 years ago I realized that they were about as significant to my life as the stick of gum that originally came with them. So I gave them all to my nephew and never thought about them again....until now, LOL. I'm not sure if he'll ever come to the same realization I did, but at least I got those cards out of my life!
Stuff is highly overrated, IMAO.
