I just tried to put a limit order on Fidelity for CYDY (yes, I was on the high side), and this is the message I got.
The limit price you entered is too far away from the last trade for this security. For sell limit orders on stocks trading between $1 - $4.99, the sell limit price cannot be greater than $7.50.
I called in to inquire why...Fidelity Business Rule. I am pushing the issue with them to see what I get.
Side note, TD Ameritrade site let met enter it no problem.
