COVID-29 is not influenza. The deaths from COVID-19 in a few months have already exceeded the average number of deaths each year from influenza. The COVID-19 virus is far more contagious than the flu virus, and has a much longer window in which people are contagious before they have symptoms -- if they have symptoms at all. Influenza does not normally have carriers of that disease who are asymptomatic.
Also, there are not actual numbers of influenza deaths. The government figures assume that any death from pneumonia during flu season is a flu-related death. That is absurd and inflates the figures. We also know that the COVID deaths have occurred in much higher numbers than are currently reported, because people did not realize that the "pneumonia" or "heart attack" deaths were actually from a new virus.
We are just at the beginning of this pandemic, and it does a disservice to act as if this is a seasonal influenza. It is not. It is a far more serious disease.
Future information about the flu will be deleted as off-topic, which it is, unless there is some absolute direct bearing on the COVID pandemic.
