That 10,000 free vials offer from NP, as well as his comment that the government would help with funding, is suggestive of the fact that he has been in contact with the fda about how to play things out. Which would be great if true, and also would help me feel better about the weird lack of acknowledgment by the FDA/White House publicly about Leronlimab.
*GUT FEELING WARNING*
Now we find ourselves in this week of silence and if you believe in coincidences we’re also waiting on the latest round of negotiations on stimulus money to finalize. Part of that package is supposed to be for funding BARDA and ultimately to fund promising vaccines and treatments. It really makes me wonder if Cytodyn knows that they’re in line for their share of those funds once they are signed off on. Negotiations went slower than expected, which could be why NP had hoped to be having a call this week but now we’ve made it almost all week without a peep. So many things are tied to funding.
This is all just a guess, a gut feeling, based on nothing more than optimism, hope, and reading between lines. But I wouldn’t be surprised if the next PR is tomorrow morning or Monday, depending on when the stimulus is officially official, and it’s to announce funding. (I’d also take one on the supposed UK limited/conditional approval we all hope might happen!)
