TY for pointing out what underlies good parody and satire, who wudda thunk it? LOL And you're right, the Bee will never be The Onion, or Borowitz, or The Duffel Blog and for that I am glad. I just don't think the country needs another publication that specializes in keeping a massive horde of people forever locked in a librul wet dream. It can't be good for either their mental or physical health.
In addition to a few things listed in your post, I think the main thing those people protesting against is their Gov's infinite stupidity, which appears to run both deep and wide. Hmmmm, I think she just might be the perfect running mate for Plugs Biden.
The gov is on sound ground, both legally and moral you say? Please tell me how keeping people from buying seed and planting a garden is legal or moral.* Or maybe you can explain to me why it is OK to get out on a lake in a kayak of canoe but not a motor boat. I think what the people of Michigan are dealing with is a very mediocre person who has let a little bit of power turn her into a complete nitwit with nothing but quicksand to stand on.
* I guess I would be given the firing squad in Michigan. Every day I piddle around with my bonsai trees and I have also planted around a 100 or so lemon, orange, peach, and nectarine seeds this year and, thus far, not nary a person in the neighborhood has died from any of my immoral actions. That could change next week though. I'm expecting some baobab seeds to be sent by mail and I expect that at least a dozen or so of my neighbors to keel over just as soon as I put the first seed in the ground. I hope Old Man Sullivan is in the first group to drop. He has always been a turd. LOL
