There are about 70 companies working on COVID vaccines.
There are many companies, universities, and Federal labs experimenting with drugs for treatments.
It might be useful to assemble a list of the drugs/companies we are familiar with.
The drugs most often mentioned are:
anti-malarials like chloroquine/hydroxychloroquine (Sanofi and generics); Remdesivir (Gilead).
Some of us here are familiar with IPIX's experimental drug Brilacidin, which is an antibiotic and anti-inflammatory, recently found to have anti-viral activity.
Many other companies are looking at their anti-inflammatory drugs to see if they can stop the catastrophic "cytokine storm" -- the body's immune response which, when it becomes too active, can cause multiple organ failure and kill people.

Also, two companies, Cytosorbents (CTSO) and Arch Therapeutics (ARTH), have filters which can remove toxicities from the blood, to treat cytokine storm. ARTH has a CE mark (Europe) but is not approved in the U.S.
