It’s interesting, on March 13th CytoDyn appointed Jacob Lalezari, M.D. as Interim Chief Medical Officer. I think we can all agree that it seemed like a temporary, stopgap measure – but we were happy to have someone with his strong credentials and long CytoDyn history in that position.
Yesterday, CytoDyn appointed Scott A. Kelly, M.D., as Chief Medical Officer and Head of Business Development. From a distance, and not knowing anything about him, he seems to not have been a clinical doctor - or a business dev guy, but I will refrain from commenting. I have to assume this decision made sense for all involved.
However, at the beginning of yesterday’s Proactive video, Ms Corrado introduced Jacob Lalezari as CytoDyn’s Chief Science Officer – and we all know he has his own company and he is not listed on the CytoDyn Management Team page.
Surely the three of them discussed his title before shooting the video. So, that begs the question: is he really CytoDyn’s Chief Science Officer – or was that just an unused title they had laying around that could be used for the video?
Personally, and background wall art and bicycle aside, I think he would be a good addition to the company.
