We could go into the details of the BLA submission but complex processes generally take longer than expected to complete. Even the hydroxychloroquine verification for coronavirus indication is dragging on and that is receiving intense pressure from the very top to get done.
As for Fauci, I could be wrong, but I haven't heard him specifically mentioning drugs by name unless it's been giving caution to hydroxychloroquine hopes.
