Re: cytodyn-wa #26941
120,000 litre Leronlimab Contract with Samsung
Reply to #cytodyn-wa question on how many vials does 120,000 litres yield.
If my math is correct it is 40 million vials! Likely this will be a multi year contract.
If standard vial size is 3 ml (175mg/ml of active ingredient)
120,000 litres = 120,000,000 ml = 40,000,000 ml vials
* This assumes when NB states 120,000 litres he means 175 mg/ml concentration)
Sansung Bilogics has quite large capacity for MAB production (but of course they have other customers already committed to X% of capacity). I would estimate that this quantity of Leronlimab (Pro 140) would be produced over no less than 6 months and perhaps 1 year +. Nonetheless, quite a lot of COVID-19 patients who could be cured no to mention HIV patients and Cancer patients.
Additional estimate from previous post:
Sunny3999 & others, can we run through the math on how many patients can be treated with the 120,000 litre contract Nader referenced he hopes to finalize on Monday with Samsung Biologics.
As 350,000 patients from your estimate would mean that each patient receives 342 ml (or about 1/3 of a litre) is that correct? or
Please correct my assumptions/math below:
3 ml/vial of Leronlimab
Patients receive 2, 3 ml vials for 2 treatments, 2 weeks apart = 12ml/patient
120,000 litres of production = 120,000,000 ml of product
120,000,000 ml/12 ml = 10,000,000 patients
If administered for 6 weeks instead of 2 then: 36 ml/patient
120,000,000 ml/36 ml = 3.3 million patients
