I always chuckle when someone says "I need the SS to come down so I can buy PCTL." Unless someone's 401k is in Fidelity I can see zero reason to stay with that broker or another that won't let you invest wherever you like. I have a Fidelity account for my company's employee stock purchase plan, but Schwab is where my 401k and cash accounts are and Schwab and many other services let you buy pennies.

Btw...I agree with everything you posted. I'm just venting at the silliness we see posted day-in and day-out.
