Anything is possible. I would expect they would try to use Brilacidin in an aerosol form for COPD and Asthma rather than IV.
There was a study on a defensin in aerosol form against SARS or MERS which had good results...I think that was one of the supporting pieces of evidence that Brilacidin may have good results against COVID19. Whether they will use IV or aerosol we don't know. It is a small molecule which is good for aerosol but there are many factors that impact how permeable a tissue is to a given drug.
In addition to the safety concerns raised by Drano, a pill or an inhaler is a much cheaper and convenient delivery method than an IV as well.
All very exciting. We'll wait to hear more.
