The company has gotten valuable research for free -- just the cost of supplying the drug. Now we know that it has anti-viral activity too.
Antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, antiviral. One drug does all 3.
This would have cost the company at least hundreds of thousands of dollars to design and do this lab work -- instead, the government lab is paying for it. And we also don't know what the university lab is doing, but that research is free too.
