Funny you would mention Allopurinol as an example because I take that when I need it. I'm a meat and potatoes guy, so when I chase the red meat with red wine, I sometimes have to chase those with an Allopurinol pill. Those uric acid crystals are no fun, so I spend a lot of my time looking for foods that are low in purine.
