It's logical to try untested drugs when someone is going to die without it.
I think that remdesivir is promising. There was a guy who was in the Omaha isolation group (from that first cruise ship) that got remdesivir, and he wrote an article about how he felt tremendously better after his first dose. Again, it's just anecdotal. Studies of anti-viral drugs are needed not just for this emergency, but for the next horrible disease that jumps from animal to human.
If the West is serious about stopping these kinds of pandemics, they need to pressure China and Thailand to STOP having those so-called "wet markets" that have animals housed in tiny cages next to each other, and slaughter those animals right there in horribly unsanitary conditions.
