If a patient has the dual CCR5 delta32 gene deletion leronlimab would not work for them since there are no CCR5 receptors to block. In the case of that gene deletion receptors other than CCR5 take over the immune response duty of CCR5. 1% of those of european ancestry have that deletion with lesser amounts elsewhere.

I'm not sure whether or not they're testing for that deletion in New York.
