Per ABC 7 in NY, a patient under normal circumstances needing ventilation, will spend about 3 - 4 days on the ventilator. COVID - 19 patients will spend anywhere from 11 - 21 days on a ventilator.
This is one way we know that Leronlimab is working. The fact that patients with COVID - 19 were removed from a ventilator at least 10 to 14 days AHEAD of typical stays speaks directly to the drug. A ventilator can certainly play a role the first day or two, however after that, thus far, the drug seems to really kick in and ventilation is not needed.
This is just what I have gathered. I'm not in the medical field, so please correct me if my thoughts are wrong.
