A valid question. I think Nader has been dealing with this a lot as of late
One think he cannot do is be perceived as overcharging, it will produce an uproar of everybody thinking CytoDyn is taking advantage of the situation. Will certainty be negative.
We need to help foremost and, if this produces good publicity, by helping to get society out of this, so be it. In that direction my personal opinion is to give the vials at cost plus a very small profit (this will be almost free) AND advertise to the four winds that CytoDyn is donating the vials at cost to contribute to solving the crisis.
This will achieve three objectives:
1) Help out all the patients in need (most important).
2) Do not establish a price for the COVID medicine, price that will probably impinge on a potential pricing for HIV and/or Oncology latter on. We need to remember that we are talking $60K for HIV and probably more for Oncology. If we establish say, $5K for COVID. How can we charge more for other indications ?? Is a tricky business. So, for the time being, "we are donating at cost the drug. Latter we will discuss pricing."
3) Stablish a rapport with FDA. We helped during the COVID crisis, remember ???. Give us a break.
