To me the issue with SP is new shares appear out of thin air. I guess warrants are where they are coming from or private placements. While selling and shorting drive down the price both are perfectly on the up and up and is to be expected. It is hard for an investor to make informed trading decisions when you don't how many more shares are going to suddenly appear available to trade.
